#Facebook is indeed changing things! #LD #Gifted #Play #Teaching #Learning

This is indeed the BEST picture I have found depicting the severity of the Storm that hit Europe the past day or so!
Keeping ourselves safe #nomatterwhat is the one rule we need to teach our children as parents or educators ... the only rule they may not break ... and we need to realize that we all need experience to know when to apply a rule.

To really procrastinate read on here or skip one or two paragraphs. It was incredible that people still went outside, even after the police and TV channels were on high alert! I was lucky being warned by #Facebook about 9 hours before the Storm hit Denmark via UK and thus I realized that this time the weatherman was onto something. See, our brain is indeed something we must care for - the picture above is what can happen in a country where people forget to use bicycle helmets, even after major education about the need to use them, and not hear warnings about a storm coming - I bet she did not think at the time about being photographed - she was just keeping herself safe!

Makes me think about "applying knowledge" ... after reading about Feuernstein who assesses and then teaches children skills to learn and wondering about labels and testing aka Kaufmans story and his accomplishments and thinking about how Play Intelligence gives children the practise they need and throwing in a bit of the Social and Emotional needs of Gifted children leaves me wondering about how we actually end up applying what we have learned vs motivation to learn! This makes me even more aware of the different angles the same thing can be seen from.

In the end Special Needs is really what gets peoples Creative going! Depending on any situation people define their own needs, themselves. What they really need is a few practise runs, safe environment and then diving into the real thing ... quite simple? So why do we waste so many hours on "eksperimentation", excessive Guidance ect. when we have so much available that actually works?

I mean just look at Facebook - it's making even the weather guys job "obsolete" as we see above - imagine what Internet is doing for Learning Needs and ultimately teaching or parenting in the future? (Now this paragraph may or may not make sense depending if you skipped the earlier paragraphs ;) )

Twice Exceptional Denmark

Twice Exceptional Denmark er lavet for dobbelt exceptionelle børn dvs. børn med særlige forudsætninger som samtidig har indlæringsvanskeligheder. Disse børn kan have opmærksomheds-, koncentrations- og kontakt- vanskeligheder som oftest er pga. Ordblindhed/ Dyslexi, ADHD, AS, PDD NOS, OCD, Tourette osv.

Det ofte set at Børn med særlige forudsætninger er af natur Asynkron Udviklet dvs. det halter med at deres emotionelle og sociale udvikling følger med det som ses ved jævnaldrende, samtidig med at de lærer lynhurtigt det emner de er motiveret for og ender således ofte foran jævnaldrende i disse oråder, uden sparringspartner. Børnene ender ofte meget ”misforstået” og en tværfagligindsats er nødvendig hvis sådan en situation skal kunne vendes.

Tværfaglighed bør bestå af en BMSF konsulent/psykolog og derudover specialister jvf. barnets specifikke diagnoser og andre problemer hver gang handleplaner udarbejdes, barnets evalueres osv. Men der er langt vej endnu, da BMSF ikke anerkendes i Kommunerne, og dermed overses det at barnet har behov for en ”særlig” forståelse og indsigt for at børnene kan få den rette hjælp jvf. Socialloven og Inklusion.

Men desværre ses disse børn i AKT forløb, heldagsskoler og kan ende i Udsatte grupper:

De unge, som kommer til opholdsstederne, har været vanskelige at placere i de kommunale tilbud, hvor hverken de unge, som kommer til opholdstederne eller de elever, der går i de kommunale tilbud, vil profitere af at være sammen.
